Murray Frankland

Murray founded SOTE in 1988 and ran it as a Trustee until the end of 2015. He subsequently took over as Chair in 2017 and resumed responsibility for running the charity in January 2018. Murray’s background is in management and organisational development both in-company and as a consultant and this has been key in helping SOTE grow.

Murray was inspired to set up SOTE whilst he was touring South India in 1988 after seeing the poverty that communities lived in. Murray was energised to see and learn that it would not take much to change communities lives for the better and has been delighted with the great progress that has been made.

He describes SOTE as a network charity and accounts the success of SOTE to our large supporter base that is built on word of mouth through friends and family as well as recommendations.
