Porselvi is one of the women who has been helped by the eye clinic. With testing she was found to be short sighted, and now with the glasses she has been given she can read. This seemingly small act has a huge impact for her life, for example she will now be able to read bus numbers making travel much easier!

Porselvi is also a trained health worker who organises medical camps and trains other women to become health workers. She is involved in various projects run by CRUSADE, including supporting disabled members of the villages.

She is an example of the facilitation of independence that CRUSADE aim for; by receiving help and support from CRUSADE she has learnt new skills so that she can work and be able to help others around her.
